Promote Your Session at LitCon
We’re proud of this event and hope you are too! Celebrate your accomplishment and promote LitCon by spreading the word to educators in your circle.
Ideas to promote your sessions at LitCon
- Download the provided LitCon graphics to cross-promote across your communication channels, social media, and add to your email signature.
- To download, right click on the image and save it to your device.
- Submit a short blog post online about your upcoming LitCon session. Contact Meghan Farynowski with any questions.
- Submit a short, 30-second video to KT Hughes promoting your session and inviting attendees to the LitCon experience.
- Include literacyconference.org in your social media posts and consider adding it to your social media profile pages in the “about” or “bio” sections.
- When you create a LitCon social media post, ask your staff, ambassadors, and stakeholders to share that post on their social media platforms. Likes and shares on one post will create traction, and the platform will show the post to more individuals.
A successful social media post will contain these elements:
- Visually appealing photo, graphic, or video
- Brief message (the shorter the better)
- The LitCon hashtag, #k8litcon
- Call to action to visit www.literacyconference.org to learn more and register.
Ask your supporters to share/retweet your posts with their followers and friends.
Tag or mention your supporters and partner organizations if referenced in the post.
- Type your post.
- When you’re ready to mention your partners, type “@” and begin typing their name.
- Select them from the list that appears. Their name will appear blue, indicating a correct tag. Example: @literacyconference on Facebook,
@k8litcon on Instagram and Twitter
Post frequently on your platforms leading up to LitCon to help create excitement for attendees.
- Dedicate weekly posts to your Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram channels.
- Make sure to switch it up with different photos, graphics, messages, and videos.
- Include the LitCon hashtag #K8LitCon in all posts.
